LOTUS Identity Standards CD-Rom
Think New Ideas, 1998-99
Winner of 1999 MIMC Award
The Lotus CD-Rom was created as a form of electronic manual to educate Lotus employees and partners worldwide about the corporate image standards of Lotus/IBM. The primary goal was the development and implementation of a tool for designers to use and learn all the specifics of the Lotus identity standards.
The CD included a catalog of hundreds graphic files necessary to develop the corporate image. Designers and partners of Lotus no longer need to call headquarters to request image files since they can download them from the CD. The CD also contained various detailed manuals on how to correctly create Lotus collateral. These manuals are downloaded from the CD as Acrobat files.
This product won the 1999 MIMC award (now called MITX) for best multimedia product.
Gillette Mach 3 Promotion
Think New Ideas
Winner of the 1998 WebAward for "Best Consumer Goods Web Site."
Between 1998 and 2000, our team designed, developed and maintained the family of websites of the Boston-based multinational Gillette. This family of websites included Gillette.com, Mach3.com, braun.com, and Duracell.com.
In addition to the design, development and architecture of the sites, we helped Gillette develop a marketing campaign for the Mach 3 products, and helped them launch the first advertising for the new line of razors.
Silicon Graphics - Discovery CD
Think New Ideas
This project was developed as a proposal from THINK to develop the new Holodeck site with all the manuals of use, maps, architecture, functional specs and the research results of several focus groups, including Mpeg compressed high-resolution video.
The CD also contained various detailed manuals on how to correctly create Lotus collateral. These manuals are downloaded from the CD as Acrobat files or viewed within the interface as video presentations (the CD-Rom used Quicktime as the format for these video segments).
IBM Diversity 2000 and Interactive
Heritage Timeline
Think New Ideas
In 2000 we created a web-based dynamic presentation, hosted as part of their main website, to promote the diversity practices and efforts of IBM over the 20th Century
This presentation commemorated the 100th anniversary of IBM and celebrated the forward-thinking policies and practices adopted by their HR department since their early days.
GTE Intrigue
Think New Ideas
This project consisted on the creation and development of an interactive TV interface system for hotels. Through this interface, the user accesses all sorts of information and services, both from the hotel and from external sources, as well as Internet access and travel information.
The process involved a careful study of the client needs which included several focus groups, the proposal of an architecture for the system, as well as technical recommendations, and finally the creation and production of the system. Extensive user testing was necessary in order to assure the interactive system was user-friendly and easy to upgrade. Today, some of the best hotels in the world use the Intrigue TV system as their customer interactive center.
A recent article in Sound & Vision magazine highlighted the Intrigue TV system at the prestigious Bryant Park hotel in New York.
SUN Microsystems-Pro/MECHANICA CD
Think New Ideas
This project was developed as a CD-based manual for the Pro/MECHANICA software. A copy of this CD was included in the package of each SUN Microsystems computer sold in 1997.
Pro/MECHANICA is a 3-D rendering program for Unix that simulates how a product will function in its intended environment. It allows non-specialist design engineers to explore the mechanical performance of design alternatives without building prototypes.
With the insight gained from this innovative software, users can improve designs early in the development cycle, when changes are easier and less expensive to make.
Softbank/Reciprocal - Rigths Exchange
Think New Ideas
SoftBank assigned us to develop a Flash-based website for their Rights ExchangeTM service solution for digital commerce. The Rights ExchangeTM provided rights protection and the assurance of completely secure financial transactions, in order to enable digital commerce to rival traditional, real-world commerce. This one of the first attempts to create a secure, copy-right protected digital exchange system. I developed their original website, and a series of Flash-based demos aimed to carefully explain how the Rights ExchangeTM works and how it benefited both the seller and the customer of copyright protected material.
In the year 2000 SoftBank's the Rights ExchangeTM became Reciprocal, but due to the lack of a market base, it run out of business at the end of 2001.
